The Green Card through Asylum Refugee Stutus may be requested by refugees or by certain family relatives of asylees. You need to wait one year after the date of entry into the United States when you were admitted as a refugee or as a qualifying family member of an asylee, to be eligible to apply for permanent residence (a green card). 

People that were granted asylum in the US are eligible to apply for a green card or permanent residence 1 year of receiving theafter the asylum status. In the case of refugees, they are required by law to apply for permanent resident status 1 year after being admitted to the United States in refugee status.  As an asylee, an individual is not required to apply for permanent resident status after being granted asylum for 1 year.
